From Space to Ground: A Data Scientist’s Exploration of NASA’s Data

Time:
Thursday, 10:40am - 11:30am
Abstract:

Interplanetary explorations, including Curiosity’s landing on Mars and wins by other robotic explorers, have resulted in both Big Data and a big impact for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Recent advancements in technologies, coupled with the implementation of an advanced analytics initiative are rapidly connecting more of our staff to more of our data. This session explores JPL’s successes and failures starting from rapid prototypes and growing into production successes.
