Abstract:
We'll look at the tools and frameworks employed by The Times to build and support its mobile initiatives and dig into the ways in which our mobile applications have evolved since 2008.
The New York Times has been an early adopter in the mobile space with applications for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and webOS. We've made a big bet on native application development, but have also experimented a great deal with HTML5, responsive design and hybrid applications.
This session will provide an overview of the architecture behind nytimes.com and share how our cloud strategy influences the design of our mobile applications.
