Track: Modern Computer Science in the Real World

Day of week: Monday

The lineage and benefits of Computer Science research, both theory and applied, has become pervasive in our everyday lives while interacting with technology. Our video games are more real and immersive than ever; we expect mobile and web applications to react faster while producing and processing more content than ever before. For those writing programs, tooling and language abstractions have reached such new heights that our mainline toolchains are inspired by some of the most recent approaches to compilation, static analysis, and formal methods. In this track, we'll see how industry is benefiting from, applying, and extending Computer Science research to solve problems regarding scale, safety, speed, separation of concerns, and much much more.
