Netflix customers stream billions of hours of content each month. The infrastructure to support this volume of traffic is large, distributed, and complex. To help operate an infrastructure, at this scale, requires new and innovative approaches to insights. The Edge Operational Intelligence Team is building a Reactive Stream Processing System, called Mantis, to power these next generation insight tools.

In this talk we describe Mantis, discuss challenges associated with designing for the cloud, processing billions of events, all while being cost sensitive.
